What is Experience Aloha?
Experience Aloha is an annual travel consultant and wholesale agents familiarisation coordinated by Hawaii Tourism Oceania, and is renowned as being one of the best destination educationals on the Australian travel industry calendar.
One large group of approximately 50 participants is split into four smaller groups, each visiting one of the islands – Hawaii Island, Maui, O’ahu or Kaua’i. This will involve hotel inspections and various activities, allowing participants to experience the island and its Hawaiian culture first hand before meeting as an entire group again for the final three days in Waikiki which includes a destination workshop and Aloha gala dinner.
How are the consultants selected?
Experience Aloha is the second phase of Hawaii Tourism Oceania’s training strategy following its annual Hawaiian roadshow, Aloha Down Under held in May.
Consultants who attend
Experience Aloha have qualified for the familiarisation by attending Aloha Down Under; have completed Kuhina, Hawaii Tourism Oceania’s online training program and actively sold the destination in conjunction with Hawaiian Airlines.
What do I get from Experience Aloha?
While there is a serious learning side to the familiarisation, there is also a lot of fun. Agents are occasionally given the opportunity to select chosen activities and experiences are shared with the group over drinks in the evening and again with all participants during the workshop in Waikiki.
The aim of
Experience Aloha is to introduce the agents to new activities and experiences, so in turn they can enhance their client itineraries and facilitate a greater visitor experience.
